Cyrenians’ Foundations to Employment delivers an innovative and bespoke employability service to those furthest from employment. Foundations to Employment has worked since 2009 with those across the city who struggle to access employment and training.
We support people to move towards employment by looking at all aspects of your life to ensure it is as settled and as balanced as possible.
What does the support look like?
Foundations to Employment is a 1:1 support service for people facing problems that stop them moving back into work.
We support you to remove or deal with issues so you can move back into work-based training or volunteering. This can help you move towards a more settled lifestyle.
We can provide support to those with experience of:
• A history of offending
• A history of substance misuse
• Low social skills
• A lack of self-management
• Low self-esteem or self-confidence
• Poor literacy or numeracy skills
• Domestic abuse
• Sexual abuse

We provide bespoke 1:1 support.
We get to know you.
We meet you where you want to meet.
We listen to find out what you need.
We help you to build structure, at your pace, through 1:1 sessions, volunteering opportunities.
We can also help with digital skills, CV writing, help towards training.
When
As a bespoke service we work with you to develop your own programme without any set timescale.
Where
We can meet you at home or at cafes throughout Edinburgh. We also have Cyrenians office as well as Fareshare Depot and Cyrenians Cook School.
