Edinburgh Guarantee logoThe Edinburgh Guarantee was established in 2011. The aim was to help school leavers who were unable to move into a positive destination following the last economic downturn. Led by the City of Edinburgh Council, public, private and voluntary organisations in the city worked together to offer opportunities for young people. A variety of solutions were developed to support them into employment, training or further education. These contributed to an increase of over 12% in positive destination figures for the city.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Edinburgh Guarantee expanded its offer to meet the needs of all job seekers, regardless of age, and employers.

The Edinburgh Guarantee provides information on the range of employability support funded by the City of Edinburgh Council.

For job seekers, whether it’s a job, training, education or employability support, there are organisations in the city to help you. We offer support to people of all ages, especially those who have additional barriers to employment.
