Moving Forward is a progression service for young people. If you are struggling to find a direction or have found difficulty in attending school, we can help.
Some providers will accept referrals for young people from 15.5 years old. If you are unable to attend school but are not yet old enough to leave, Moving Forward may be of interest to you. You will get one-to-one support centred around your goals and interests. Moving Forward provides opportunities for work experience and volunteering. You can also use the service to get qualifications, employability and well-being support. Some providers support the families of young people engaging in Moving Forward.
By attending Moving Forward, you may be eligible for Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) payments.
There are seven hubs across the city which support eligible young people. These are split into geographical locations, based on schools in each area, and are called clusters. The contact details for each cluster are listed below.
