Disability support

B-Empowered is an employability programme for young people across Edinburgh aged 16 – 19, with Additional Support Needs (ASN). Young people can already hold or be awaiting a diagnosis, or can self-diagnose. 

You will be supported by both a Barnardo’s Works Employability Project Worker and a Family Support Worker from the Barnardo’s Together team, on a one-to-one basis for consistent, long-term support.

B-Empowered will work with you to create bespoke support plans to identify barriers and devise solutions while exploring their future employability goals. This wrap-around support is designed to allow you to thrive in all aspects of your life, promote your well-being and connect you with positive and sustainable outcomes.

They will support you in being more work-ready and also offer continued support once you are in work or education, to ensure your destinations are inclusive and you feel comfortable in your new environment.
