The Living Wage Foundation Places UK Conference recently took place in Manchester.
The annual conference is an exciting opportunity for Living Wage and Fair Work employers and advocates from across the UK to come together to connect, learn and raise awareness about fair work. Abi Sharp attended to represent the Edinburgh Fair Work Action Group.
This year, the conference focused on the role that fair work can play in supporting the health and wellbeing of communities. The event featured presentations on real examples of fair work in action, how to talk about fair work and approaches to retain Living Wage employers. The conference was a valuable reminder that the Living Wage is about more than pay, it is key to improving wellbeing and building healthier, more inclusive communities.

“The conference was a great opportunity to network with peers, hear about the latest research on the links between work, health and wellbeing, and discuss practical solutions to the challenges organisations face in becoming and remaining Living Wage employers. The session on retaining Living Wage employers was particularly insightful, offering examples of how advocates can sustain momentum and continue to grow their Living Wage networks.”
