Apprenticeship Week provided an opportunity to celebrate all things apprenticeships and learn how you can become involved.
Apprenticeship Week took place this year from 2 to 6 March 2026. Our internal apprenticeship team held a variety of exciting and valuable events with the aim of providing support and spreading awareness on the topic of apprenticeships.
We hosted two online sessions on Microsoft Teams, one for internal recruitment within the council, where the team shared how to recruit an apprentice. The second session was aimed at employability support organisations, those interested in starting an apprenticeship of any kind, and for parents/guardians, where they answered questions and provided advice. The team also had a stall within the council building, where internal teams could chat and get advice on everything apprenticeships.
