Job Description

Move On's employability course supports young people aged 16 to 25 looking to kickstart their employability and construction journey. As well as gaining a CSCS card and achieving an SCQF Level 3 Employability Award, young people will have access to quality work placements at top construction companies. 

Participants can gain:

  • Support and funding to sit CSCS test and gain CSCS card 
  • REHIS level 5 Elementary Health and Safety Qualification 
  • SCQF level 3 Core Skills 
  • SCQF level 3 Employability Award 
  • Work placement on local sites such as Cruden 
  • Confidence building through group work 
  • CV and interview skills workshop  
  • Construction site visit 

What is provided: 

  • Funding to book CSCS test and 1 re-sit 
  • CSCS card paid for once test is passed 
  • Continued support to pass CSCS test once course has finished 
  • One-to-one person-centered planning for next steps 
  • Bus/train travel repaid 
  • Lunch reimbursed 

Start date: 6th of October 2026

Duration: 10 Weeks + Continued support after course completion 

Times and days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-2pm 

Skills and Qualifications

The programme supports young people who:

  • Are 16- to 25-year-old
  • Live in Edinburgh City, Lothians and Borders 
  • Are able to self-travel to Edinburgh centre 
  • Have an interest in construction
