Housing Supervisor - North East Locality

Based in the Temporary Accommodation Service, you will provide a range of housing management services, information, assessment and advice services to our tenants, homeless people, and other customers, including residents, neighbours of our homes and people seeking housing advice. The role will also include the co-ordination of other housing and support services to support our customers and ensure the effective delivery of services for homeless people.

You will lead a diverse team of Homelessness Mobile Wardens who work in our void properties to bring them back to a high standard to enable them to be let out to our homeless clients. You will also supervise Housing Assistants who are responsible for a range of admin tasks to ensure all properties are set up on our Internal Housing systems and any specialist works are carried out in a timely manner.

You will be a housing professional with significant experience of working in a social housing role in a housing association, council or similar organisation. With an excellent knowledge of social housing, property management and homelessness, coupled with a passion and track record for delivering high quality work within a limited timescale, you will have the leadership skills and motivation to lead a diverse team.

• Possession of an SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Extensive demonstrated competence in carrying out the full range of legal duties and a sound knowledge of the specified function and necessary skills.
• Experience of working in a multi-agency environment.
• Experience of developing services through change / project management.
• Knowledge and understanding of addictions and mental health issues and ability to use this insight to engage with clients with complex needs.
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a sensitive manner and handle conflict in difficult situations.
• Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and react by reallocating resources within challenging timescales.
