Job Description

Within this role you will be patrolling public streets and car parks, advising the public of where they can park safely and securely, issuing tickets to incorrectly parked vehicles, reporting suspected abandoned vehicles, and dealing with enquiries from the members of the public. Working hours are 40 hours per week, generally 5 out of 7 days which may include some Sundays. As part of Social Bite’s Jobs First programme, applicants should have a background of homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Main tasks:

  • Your day will be spent, mostly outside, in all weathers, so please consider this before you apply
  • You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations
  • Patrol and enforce contraventions throughout Edinburgh
  • High visibility presence to help counter any parking contraventions and issue appropriate Penalty Notices where required.
Skills and Qualifications

You must enjoy dealing with people, be friendly, polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. PC skills would also be an advantage, as you will be using a hand-held device daily. If you enjoy being outdoors and have great communication skills, we would love to hear from you.
