Childcare Modern Apprenticeship

PA Training is an SQA approved centre specialising in SVQs in the care sector. We recruit on behalf of various private nurseries in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian.

You will work full time work in a private nursery looking after children aged 0 - 5 years. The role will involve planning stimulating activities suitable for children’s development and meeting the physical, emotional and developmental needs of individual children, as well as team work with colleagues and partnerships with families. You will work towards SCQF Level 7 Social Services (Children and Young People).

Main tasks:

• Preparing the environment.
• Planning stimulating activities suitable for children’s development.
• Preparing snacks and supervising meals.
• Meeting the physical, emotional and developmental needs of individual children.
• Working in a team alongside others.
• Working with families.  
   

• National 5 English is preferred. 
• No experience is required but an enthusiasm for working with young children, good communication skills, and an ability to use initiative are essential.
• A positive attitude and caring nature are also required.
