Brief summary
The City of Edinburgh Council offers offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults who live in Edinburgh. Our ESOL classes can help adults learn or improve their English to make their day-to-day life easier.
For example: talking to doctors and teachers, helping your child with homework, and other everyday communication.
What does the support look like?
We have classes throughout the week at levels from Absolute Beginner (including ESOL Literacies) to Upper Intermediate, online and at various locations across the city.
What will I get?
To join one of our classes, learners need to register with us and attend a short assessment to check their level of English so we can match them to a class at that level if one is available. The easiest way to do this is to come to one of our drop-in assessment sessions which take place during school term time in community venues across the city.
For more information about times and dates of assessment drop ins, please visit the venue nearest to you.
