Brief summary
Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA) is a registered charity working towards a society free from domestic abuse. We provide practical and emotional support, information and advice for women, children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
What does the support look like?
We offer confidential and non-judgemental, emotional and practical support services to any woman, child or young person affected by current (or post-separation) intimate partner abuse, living in Edinburgh. We operate from a person-centred approach and so we will support and listen to you, respecting your right to make the choices best for you.
Our Helpline and Crisis Support Service is open six days a week. If you can’t speak to us on the phone or via email, we offer an open drop-in service at our Edinburgh office.
What will I get?
We can give you advice on how you and your children can stay safe, including guidance on how the law can protect you, provide temporary refuge accommodation if you’re unable to stay in your home, and offer you support for a better future. We aim to put your needs at the heart of the organisation, respecting your right to make choices that are right for you. We take a friendly, non-judgemental approach and delivery of our services; you can talk to us freely and confidentially.
