The Job Creation Scheme (JCS) provides access to supported 6 month paid work placements. All placements are within the City of Edinburgh Council.
Applicants must meet the entry criteria: unemployed and meeting one of the No One Left Behind (NOLB) or Parental Employability Support (PES) barriers.
No qualifications or work experience are required.
What does the support look like?
The JCS provides a chance to apply for a six-month paid work placement. You will be supported by a mentor in all aspects of employability. Support will aim to progress you to a permanent job by the end of the programme.
Successful candidates will be matched with a role within a Council department. Placements may be in schools, business support, culture, parks, facilities and more! Hours and adjustments will be agreed to support your specific needs.
Applications open once per year. They are highly competitive, so please explain your barriers to progression and skill set clearly.
What will I get?
An opportunity to start or return to work. Paid work experience at the real living wage, new skills, support and mentoring, a reference and an opportunity to apply for internal vacancies within the council.
