Planning Futures for People is a community learning service that offers people aged 16+ a relaxed and supportive environment to development confidence, wellbeing and skills for life & work.

Our services include:

- ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes of different levels (beginners and intermediate) with engaging, experienced, fully qualified ESOL tutors
- Qualification in customer service (World Host Ambassador)
- Space for Change career planning course, covering wellbeing, decision making, employability and more!
- Drop-in digital club offering support in all aspects of digital, including how to use devices, how to apply for jobs online, and using the Internet
- Drop-in work club offering support to find and apply for opportunities like jobs, volunteering or work placements
- Living & Learning Group for unique learning opportunities with local organisations such as Edinburgh Zoo and Edinburgh International Festival, plus trips out, learning about the city we live in, and making friends
- 1:1 support to support with a range of issues, including finding future opportunities and connecting into the local community

After learning with us, we are passionate about empowering you to find and access other opportunities in the local community such as a group to develop a new hobby or skill, volunteering, work placements, further training, or paid employment.
What does the support look like?
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages): 6 classes per week—Monday to Wednesday—at beginner and intermediate levels, plus a conversation class on Thursday mornings to offer extra speaking practise.
Qualification in Customer Service (World Host Ambassador) – runs twice per year (please get in touch if interested)

Space for Change career planning course, covering wellbeing, decision making, employability and more! Runs four times per year on Mondays.

Drop-in digital club offering support in all aspects of digital, weekly on Wednesday afternoons.

Drop-in work club offering support to find and apply for opportunities, weekly on Tuesday mornings
Living & Learning Social Group for unique learning opportunities with local organisations such as Edinburgh Zoo and Edinburgh International Festival, plus trips out, learning about the city we live in, and making friends: on Thursday mornings.

1:1 support to support with a range of issues, including finding future opportunities: appointments on request.

Digital club and work club run throughout the year on a drop-in basis, so members can start at any point throughout the year
Qualification in Customer Service (World Host Ambassador) – runs twice per year for up to 12 people
Space for Change: Runs four times per year on Mondays
Living & Learning Social Group – runs four times per year on Thursday mornings
1:1 support to support with a range of issues, including finding future opportunities: by appointment
Where
We run most of our learning sessions at The Broomhouse Hub at 79-89 Broomhouse Crescent, Edinburgh, EH11 3RH, with occasional sessions in outreach locations.
