Access to Industry
Brief summary
This service is for young people who have an interest in mechanics. Through supported learning, we provide a pathway into the mechanics industry. We are partnered with GTG Training.
What does the support look like?
Access to Mechanics will help you to expand your mechanics knowledge and skill sets. You will gain real practical experience, and build lasting relationships with employers.

Students on the course are supported by a caseworker throughout. You will still get support once the course is completed. The caseworker will work with you to ensure a positive destination such as a job, or further training.
What will I get?
You will get a City and Guilds SCQF Level 4 Award in ‘Introduction to Vehicle Systems Maintenance’.

Students will also get an Adult Achievement Award.
When
To complete the course, you will have to attend two days a week for four weeks.

The course recruits at various times during the year. Contact us for info on future dates.
Where
We deliver the course at GTG Training’s purpose-built training facility at Ratho Station.
What can I do next?
You can progress into a job, a work placement or an apprenticeship. Our caseworkers will help you find your next step.
