The Mason Foundation is a national UK charity specialising in neuroinclusion and supporting neurodivergent young people into employment. Most of our team share lived experience of neurodivergence, which shapes everything we do. Through our Propel programme, we help workplaces become more neuroinclusive. We equip a cohort of employees with the knowledge and practical skills to create neuroinclusive environments, helping neurodivergent employees to feel understood and supported at work as well as opening the door to talent that is often overlooked. We also run workshops for young people, helping them build confidence, explore different workplaces, and find out what suits them. Alongside this, we work with teachers to help them understand how to support neurodivergent students through the transition from school into further education, training and work. All of this is funded, so there is no cost to the schools or businesses we work with.
What does the support look like?
Propel, developed in partnership with The Oaks Specialist College, helps 13–25-year-olds with learning disabilities or who are neurodivergent get ready for work. Too many want jobs but can’t get them. We’re here to change that.
We train staff to be Propel Education Mentors. They learn simple, practical ways to help young people build skills, write CVs, practice interviews, and get work experience. We also link students with local businesses and run events like Reverse Jobs Fairs to showcase their talents.
What will I get?
We train staff to be Propel Workplace Mentors. They learn how to support young people with different needs, create inclusive work experiences, and share career advice.
