SECTOR-BASED WORK ACADEMY PROGRAMME

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) also provide a training programme for certain sectors. The Sector-Based Work Academy Programme (SWAPs) provides an opportunity to learn new skills and get experience of working in a particular industry. The programme is designed to help people who are claiming either Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). The training will help you to build confidence, improve your job prospects and enhance your CV. To find out more about this, speak to your Jobcentre Plus Work Coach.

Skills Development Scotland’s My World of Work website also has information about other training and learning opportunities that might be available to you.
